The Davenport Community Schools’ Legislative Advocacy Committee sponsored their annual Meet Your Legislator Ice Cream Social on Thursday, September 13, 2012 in the Jim Hester Board Room at the ASC. Approximately 100 people attended the event including legislators Jim Lykum, Cindy Winkler, Phyllis Thede, Linda Miller, and Joe Seng. School board members Rich Clewell and Bill Sherwood, along with Superintendent Tate, Rob Scott (CHS Principal) and a number of teachers, administrators and parents were present. Students from the high schools’ AP government classes also took the opportunity to talk with legislators about their hopes and aspirations for the Davenport Community Schools.
