An eight foot square mosaic mural has been installed outside the Curriculum & Instruction office at the Achievement Service Center, 1606 Brady Street. The theme of the mural is “Children Playing in the Park.” The design by David Houk is based on student art work and photographs of the children playing at Centennial Park in Davenport. Stacey Houk, Eisenhower Elementary School art teacher helped the students take the project from the design to a finished piece. The mural reflects the collaborative efforts of over 100 elementary students from the Stepping Stones program. Stepping Stones provides curriculum-based enrichment activities for elementary students before and after school, as well as a summer session. The mural was funded by Stepping Stones and an Isabel Bloom grant.
